After a small break away, Rhythmica are back with two more gigs. A lot has happened in the past fortnight:

  • Arsenal lost to Birmingham in the Carling Cup (Which I am not happy about)
  • Col Gaddafi is still on a massive power trip
  • Binker has been to the Caribbean and back
  • Peter Edwards Trio took Ray's Jazz by storm
  • Mark has started to go to the gym......

Anyways, most of that is not important, but what IS important is the information for our next two gigs!!

Londonjazz blog review of Rhythmica's performance at the QEH

Rhythmica_at_qeh

Read the Londonjazz blog review of Rhythmica's performance at the QEH

At the height of Friday commuter time those who were wise enough to take the detour to the QEH were washed from the grime of a week of toil by a young and exhilarant Rhythmica. The neat and confident demeanour of Mark Crown –trumpet,Andy Chapman –drums, Peter Edwards –piano, Peter Randall –bass, with guest appearance from Denys Baptiste –saxophone. This was tonic to revive the weariest of commuters......

Rhythmica @ Southport Jazz Fest 2011

(download)

We travelled up to Southport the night before our performance which was scheduled for saturday morning at 11.00am ( yes AM)
On their way to the venue Rhythmica's Pete Randell, Mark Crown and Binker Golding bumped into Chef Gorden Ramsey in a service station, (as you do). Safe to say that Gordon is now an "Honourary Rhythmican".
The Southport Jazz Festival is held at the Royal Clifton Hotel, and we played in one of the large conference rooms to a packed audience. It was a fantastic gig and we got a warm reception from all the festival goers. Click the link below to see a review of the gig
